Soft and sweet words.

If I were my own best friend I would remind myself to…

keep your words soft and sweet in case you have to eat them.

***Well, the quote is not my original thought, but I definitely think it resonates. As soon as I read it I thought of cupcakes. Probably not the original intent of the author, but sometimes that is just what happens. I’m sure when the author sat down he or she said “I hope some woman thinks about delicious little bits of frosting-and-dough-heaven when she reads this.”

Instead I suspect the original intent was more about pausing and reflecting on what you say, thinking about how it may someday come back to you, and making sure you really  do want to say whatever it is you are about to say. Unfortunately all I can seem to think about though is lemon and vanilla with white sprinkles or chocolate and peanut butter with banana frosting or peppermint and buttercream with red glitter or…

So, the question is, where do you fall? Focus on etiquette, poise, and discretion or fall for batter, buttercream, and confetti??
