Enjoy the Flowers

If I were my own best friend I would…

tell myself to stop and enjoy the flowers.

(sometimes it is good to keep it simple)

Go Camping.

If I were my own best friend I would tell myself…

when life seems overwhelming I should go camping.

3 days and 2 nights in the wilderness reminds me how grateful I am for hot water, toilets, thermostats, mattresses and fresh fruit.

My perspective falls back into place.

Breathe. Only. Breathe.

If I were my own best friend, I would…

… try this again…

Breathe. ONLY. BREATHE.

SILENCE…

except for that dripping faucet and I think I have to pee and SSSHHH.

BREATHE.

(ummm, but I really do have to pee…)

Thank you for parking meters…

If I were my own best friend I would remind myself to…

be grateful for:

1. Parking meters that still have time on them (it’s like a Christmas gift!)

2. Unexpected kindness from a stranger

3. Long lunch breaks with leisure and laughter

4. People saying “bless you” (I don’t think you can ever have too many people bless you!)

Climb a staircase.

If I were my own best friend I would tell myself…

when life feels overwhelmingly HEAVY –

GO OUTSIDE!

Climb to the top of a staircase  and see what is on the other side.

Seek adventures.

Cultivate.

If I were my own best friend I would remind myself to…

…cultivate the things I care about in my life.

kindness. hope. love. peace. joy. family. friendship.
